Goodbye Mr. Stahl!

Goodbye Mr. Stahl!

Jeffrey Stahl, most commonly referred to as “Mr. Stahl” throughout the halls, has unfortunately announced his departure from our school.

Stahl, one of our school’s counselors and former football head coach, has taken a position at Wakefield High School for the upcoming years.

At his new position, he will become their school’s college and career counselor. This means he will guide his new students towards helping them reach their dream schools, exploring career paths and further advance their education in the best possible way.

At our school, next year, we will have a new format for how the counseling department is organized. This is in part why Mr. Stahl chose to depart from our school.. Rather than getting assigned counselors, ones that current students have already built relationships with, counselors are now being assigned based on last name.

“I’ve had a great experience here, I’ve met all sorts of great people, students, families of students. Of course I’m sad to leave, it’s bittersweet,” Stahl said.

Countless students, hundreds at our school, could talk about Stahl for hours. The connections he has built are completely reciprocated and if you’ve had the pleasure of working with him or getting to know him, the gratitude our school has for him is undeniable.

“Getting to work with the freshmen every year in Obetts and Wiedamann’s block” Stahl said.

When looking back on some of his fondest memories at our school, Mr. Obetts and Ms. Wiedamann class come to mind

“He’s like the mayor of this school,” said teacher, Diane Holland.

This sums him up exactly. He knows everyone in the school, brings everyone together and does work that people may not see, he fosters the community.

“He helped me with classes and ultimately got me through the school year,” said junior Shane Campell.

Mr. Stahl always puts his students first, always sacrificing his own time in order to better not only the students but everyone around him.

“Mr. Stahl builds genuine connections with his students,” said junior Grace Gagnier.

Grace is not the only student that feels this way, the amount of effort Stahl puts in is very evident. Just him walking around you’ll see countless students continuously come up to him, he truly brings real, genuine relationships to the students.

Mr Stahl previously worked in Fairfax for nine years before coming to our school where he has been for the past 11. This alone shows his work ethic. Not only does he work the job but he excels at it.

“I was the class sponsor for the 2021 and 2025 classes, I sponsored the military kids clubs, the italian club and the student athletes for mental health club” said Stahl.

The roots he has in this school are undeniable, so much is done as a result of him being such a great person.

“I’ll still be around, I’ll be at the games, people can always reach out to me about anything”.

Looking back on our school, many students think about Mr. Stahl. He’s done so much for everyone, whether he was your counselor or not, he was always willing to do what was possible in order to satisfy you. This school will not be the same without him, but we do wish him luck in the future.

We love you Mr. Stahl.
