Over winter break there have been numerous movie releases. People have been excited to go to the movie theatre, because movies like Mary Poppins Returns, Escape Room and Spiderman are playing. With all of these new arrivals, it is hard to figure out which ones are worth going to see.

Mary Poppins Returns:

This addition to the 50-year-old classic has made people happy leaving the theatre. Main characters of the original Mary Poppins, Jane and Michael Banks, are all grown up. Michael, a widower, has three bright children of his own. Jane and Michael still live in the same area and Michael and his kids live in the same house he grew up in. When it gets hard to maintain the house with frequent bank calls, Michael is very stressed and Mary Poppins arrives bringing many adventures to the kids that she once brought to Michael’s life. This movie may be a little bit longer, but it is a great fun-filled remake of a great Disney original.

BumbleBee:

On another planet, transformer robots are in the middle of a war when BumbleBee is sent to earth to achieve safe ground. This action movie is full of friendship and it shows how hard it can be to say goodbye. The main character Charlie buys a yellow Volkswagen Bug for her eighteenth birthday and gets a lot more than she bargained for. Bringing the robot Bumblebee back to life. Personally, this movie was one of my favorites and I do not normally enjoy action movies. I recommend going to see this now.

Escape Room:

Many people have heard of escape rooms all around the world. Escape rooms are big puzzles that a group of people try and solve, but the puzzle is if they can use the clues to get out of the room. This intense drama includes six strangers that travel to a crazy competition. The prize of escaping is a huge amount of money, but the whole plot changes when they realize the rooms are a series of traps and this fun competition turns into a chance of death. I thought this movie looked very compelling and intriguing, but not my favorite.

Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse:

Although there are many great Spider-Man movies, the critics believe this one tops them all. This cartoon brings a fictional story to life about many different dimensions, therefore bringing many different Spider-Men (and women). Conflict arises and Miles Morales, Spider-Man has to come and save the day, with the help of many other heroes. This story is full of humor and action and I recommend it.

As you can see, all of these movies are top quality. Friendship, action and perseverance are shown in all of these, in different ways. Winter brought the releases of many great movies, but I think these are the best ones. I recommend seeing them all, they are worth it.
