Fox Nelson as Marshall Mathers (Eminem)

Dan Huycke, Sentry Staff Reporter

Blowing his own mother away, Senior Fox Nelson performed the life and struggle of white rapper Marshall Mathers, known as Eminem. Nelson conveyed his profound respect and admiration for such a man that would deny all cajoling and discouragement of his own success. Eminem’s true courage and motivation inspired Nelson to perform his piece on the larger-than-life rapstar. Bringing up tough conversations on racial issues within the industry, poverty in America’s once brightest cities and the struggle to find one’s own voice, Nelson tapped into not only a story of a man, but the representations he carries with him.
