Keegan McCurry


Keegan is a senior who runs cross country and indoor and outdoor track. Also he was the captain of all three teams.

Q.  What do you like more: XC or Track?

A. Cross Country is definitely my favorite. Each race is totally different than the last which keeps it interesting

Q.  Who is your favorite coach?

A. I don’t really have a favorite coach. I appreciate Coach Stripe for how much he does for the entire team. I also appreciate how much Coach Lihn has done for my personal training and the distance team as a whole.

Q.  What made you choose running as your sport during high school?

A. I discovered I was pretty good at it and I enjoyed the aspects of being part of a large team.

Q.  When you ran a 4:32 mile, what was going through your head?

A. I was very surprised because I wasn’t expecting to run anywhere near that time!

Q.What do you think about while running?

A. When I’m running I either think about my next race and what I need to do to succeed in it or I think about what I’m going to do when I finish the run.

Q. Are you planning to run in college?

A. I am not planning on running at a varsity level but I may still run on a club program.

Q. What college are you going to?

A. Next year I will be attending Indiana University

Q. What is it like to be on Senior Experience?

A. So far Senior Experience has been really fun. I’ve learned a lot and gained a lot of professional experience. But, there is times where I miss certain parts of being at Yorktown.

Q. What are your thoughts on being done with high school?

A. I’m really happy to be done with High School. I’ve ready to go to college and move on to the next stage in my life.

Q. What was going through your head when you qualified for regionals in the 4×800?

A. I was really surprised because I didn’t think we even had a chance at qualifying!

Q. Where you mad at missing the mile cut by only a few milliseconds?

A. . I was mad for a while. But after I realized there wasn’t anything I could do change it, I came to accept it.

Q. What do you plan to study at college?

A.  I plan to double major in Marketing and Economic Consulting.

Q. Who was your fav teammate?

A. My favorite teammate is definitely my man Johnathon Bohanon
