Jacqui Anders – Bucky Barnes

Jacqui Anders made a brave decision with her take on Bucky Barnes, a fictional character from the Captain America comics and movies. From the moment she thought of Bucky as a possible character for her show, she could not shake the idea.

“Every time I thought of someone else, I kept going back to Bucky. I just couldn’t think about not doing Bucky,” Anders said.

Anders had to take on the role of two very large men at different points in their lives, which posed quite a challenge, but she managed to bring it all together.

Her character, Bucky, goes through his share of challenges leading him to forget who he is. Anders sympathized with Bucky and fell in love with the Captain America movies and comics. After watching Captain America: The Winter Soldier for the third time in theaters, Anders knew that she wanted to take on the role of Bucky for her One Person Show.

Anders’s passion and talent will surely take her far in the future. Her past four years in theater have definitely allowed her to envision a life in the performing arts.

“I love theater. I love how it makes me feel, I love the impact it can have on my audience-and I can’t imagine doing anything else,” Anders said.
