Recently, there have been many new films to hit the big screen. These movies have a wide range of genres that spread all across the board ranging from sci-fi in Gravity to family friendly in Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2  to horror in Insidious: Chapter 2.

Director Alfonso Cuaron’s new hit, Gravity, is set out of this world. While out on a shuttle mission, a medical engineer and her companion, a veteran astronaut, are sent far out into space. This duo meets unsuspected challenges along the way, keeping the viewer hooked the whole time.  Starring Sandra Bullock and George Clooney, this new sci-fi film is bound to fill the audience with suspense as they follow the actors along on their journey into space.

If you are looking for a lighter option then the much anticipated sequel, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2, is one for the whole family to enjoy. Directors Cody Cameron and Kris Pearn create a film that follows inventor Flint Lockwood, voiced by Bill Hader, who is finally living his dream. His genius is starting to become known and he is beginning to enter a prestigious inventor’s society. Everything turns upside down, however, when one of his invention goes terribly wrong and begins to create creatures made up out of a mix of food and animals. Lockwood is then left to save the world from these creatures. No one will want to miss this adventure!

Finally, if you are looking for a film to get  into the spirit of Halloween, starring Patrick Wilson and Rose Byrne, the new horror movie Insidious: Chapter 2 is here to provide people with plenty of scares and loads of suspense. The film accompanies the Lambert family as they search to uncover a long anticipated secret from the past that may reveal the reasoning behind their connection to the spiritual world. Director James Wan will have everyone at the edge of their seats!

Not only are all of these movies currently out on the big screen, but they are soon to be joined by many more greatly anticipated films. Movie-goers should be on the lookout for the Carlo Carlei’s newest version of an old classic, Romeo and Juliet . One last movie that is soon to come out is one that has been the conversation topic of many, director Gary Ross’ The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. Viewers should watch for the next chapter of this saga, and the continuation of the thrilling tale of Katniss Everdeen. Go grab your tickets and head on down to the theater, many new movie experiences await!
