Junior Ben Calvert is the definition of an athlete. This 16-year-old is not only a contributing member of the football, basketball and track teams, but he is also a crucial component of The Sentry Staff.  When he is not participating in a school related sport, Calvert can be found playing club lacrosse or demonstrating school spirit in some shape or form.

“I have a lot of patriot pride,” said Calvert.

When asked about his favorite sport, he answered, “football” with no hesitation. Calvert plays linebacker and safety on one of the strongest high school teams in the area. Last year, the team went to the Northern Region championships. It is obvious that this junior is on a great path. Consequently, Calvert claims that if given the opportunity to drop everything, quit school and become an actor, he would pass it up because he “enjoys school.”

“There’s nothing really wrong with school,” said Calvert.

While he may seem like an unstoppable character, Calvert claims that he has a weakness. His fear: heights. He later explained that when he was younger, his family went to the Grand Canyon. While there, he almost fell to his demise.

This 16-year-old’s favorite mythical creature is The Hulk. This green character, however, is not Calvert’s role model. He aspires to be like his dad.

“He works very hard for me and my sisters and is a lot of fun,” said Calvert.

Calvert is a twin and favors burritos over the burrito bowl.  He is a fascinating character who will most definitely continue to positively impact the school’s community over the next two years.
