Not only does it seem as though senior Spencer Croft’s life revolves around

golf, it also seems like the golf team revolves around him too. As captain of the golf team, Croft leads his fellow golfers, and sets an example as a veteran player. Croft’s description of himself in one word as “Energetic,” helps him to be a valuable member of the team.

“I think it’s good for me cause im better relating to people since I’m part of a team,” said Croft. In addition to playing golf, if given the chance to live the life of a celebrity for a day, Croft said he would be Rory Mcilroy, the reigning top golfer in the world. Obviously, golf is more than a sport in Croft’s life. His passion for the sport is mirrored in his favorite athlete, golf legend Tiger Woods.

Undoubtedly, Croft has learned leadership and character as captain of a sports team. Leadership and character are two attributes of a National Honor Society member, which Croft happens to be. When it comes to the third attribute, scholarship, Croft’s recognition of the importance of hard work makes him a prime example of a good student. When asked to give advice to his freshman self, Croft said he would offer advice on work ethic.

“Work as hard… freshman and sophomore year, as I did and will Junior and Senior year” said Croft. Hopefully, his work ethic will drive him to go to college, as this is his plan for after High School. “Arlington is a nice little bubble, but I’m definitely ready for college and ready to go away,” said Croft, “because Arlington gets kind of old”.
