What could be better than sitting around the fire with family, singing carols and wrapping presents? Having a delicious drink to accompany that. Every year, Starbucks attempts to create the perfect drinks for all of your holiday needs. Some live up to the standards consumers hold them to and some fall short. Here is the official review of the drinks.

Iced Sugar Cookie Almond Milk Latte:

A sugar cookie latte should be a drink that makes customers feel like they are sitting around the Christmas tree with their families, listening to Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas” and hanging up their favorite ornaments. Instead, it makes customers feel like they are living in the materialistic and artificial world the United States has become during the holiday season. The drink, a blonde roast espresso with almond milk on top of ice with red and green sprinkles, tasted like a watered-down sugar cookie. It was covered with approximately two sprinkles and came up short of the homey and comforting drink it could have been.

Toasted White Chocolate Mocha:

When the executives at Starbucks were sitting in some big room deciding what drinks to create for the holidays, how did they come up with a Toasted White Chocolate Mocha? What makes it toasted? How is it different from a normal White Chocolate Mocha? Why were there a handful of weirdly textured balls in the drink? Where was the white chocolate flavor? The drink was awful.

Caramel Brulée Latte:

Holiday drinks should have something to do with the holidays. The Caramel Brulée Latte is lacking in that department. It did have a strong caramel flavor which made it enjoyable, but there was not any brulée flavor. I am not sure what brulée flavor is, but I know that there was none of it. It was just a caramel latte; the brulée should be omitted from the name.

Chestnut Praline Latte:

This drink came out of nowhere. I was expecting some over-sweetened mess of a latte, but I received a flavorful cinnamon delight. The cinnamon and nutmeg shine in this drink and you can actually taste the chestnuts. I have no idea what chestnut praline is, but I love it. The drink may have been watery, yet it exceeded my expectations and will add a little bit of spice to your holidays.

Irish Cream Cold Brew:

Ah, the Irish. They really do have the best food. From roasted potatoes to mashed potatoes and even steamed potatoes, their food is unique and diverse. The Irish cream cold brew perfectly pays homage to their vibrant culture. It has an intense coffee flavor and is paired with the Irish cream that delights taste buds and is perfect for any time of day. However, the holiday cheer was nowhere to be found. Like, nowhere. Not even a couple of sprinkles. Starbucks, please do better.

Peppermint Mocha:

As the favorite holiday drink of Sentry opinion editor Yasmina Mansour, the Peppermint Mocha does not disappoint. It bursts with flavor and makes you believe old Saint Nick is just around the corner, ready to fill your living room with presents and your heart with joy. One sip and you’ll be filled with all the holiday spirit needed for a lifetime.
