Junior Minh Truong has a tremendous impact on everyone he meets. He is an avid member of Best Buddies and loves going to school here. When asked what his favorite parts about school are, his response was not surprising considering he loves spending time with others.

“Meeting a lot of people…and the teachers,” Truong said.

Truong’s favorite part of school is his history class. He is interested in what happened in the past in different parts of the world.

“I want to know what happened way before I was born,” he said.

Truong also considers his greatest accomplishment to be making honor roll at school. He was surprised and excited when he found out what he had achieved.

“Of course I felt happy,” he said.

After the school day is over, Truong loves to spend time with his friends Andre and Antoine on the metro. His friends drive the Metro buses and he enjoys their company.

“It starts with an M and ends with an O, it’s metro,” Truong said.

Truong loves the Metro and Metro buses. He specifically likes the different routes each bus takes.

“The routes of the DC and Maryland buses…especially Southeast DC,” Truong said.

Truong loves to end his days in the best way possible–watching television. His favorite show is Blue Bloods, an intense cop show with crime solving and mystery. Another one of Truong’s favorite shows is Steve Harvey, a talk show led by none other than Steve Harvey.

Truong is looking forward to many events this month such as Homecoming and the Best Buddies Friendship Walk. Truong loves being a member of Best Buddies because he gets to meet new people.

“My favorite part about Best Buddies is hanging out with lots of people…and the Friendship Walk,” Truong said.

At these events he gets to see all of his friends. One of his best friends, senior Megan Grieco, is his role model.

“She always stands up for me,” Truong said.

Truong has not always lived in Arlington. He used to lived in Vietnam but is happy that he moved here. He is thankful for meeting new people and enjoys his school life.

“I moved here in 2007 and went to high school [a few years later] and started to meet new friends,” he said.

Truong loves participating in new activities and getting to know others. He is friendly, fun to be around and smart. He is definitely someone to know.
